Proper hoof care is essential for the overall health of the equine family. The necessary care for each animal will vary greatly depending on environmental conditions such as terrain, ground moisture, type and amount of feed, how the animal will be used, and many other factors. All of these need to be considered when deciding on what hoof care is needed to ensure the horse is healthy, sound, and is able to properly do the work required with safety for both horse and rider. Owners and Farriers need to work together to evaluate the individual animal to be sure that it's needs are met.
 
I have been shoeing for six years and really do feel excited about being able to enjoy what I do. As the saying goes "There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man." I have always liked being around horses and being in the farrier industry I am able to do that on a daily basis. What's better than being able to make a living doing something that you love?
I have tried to learn as much as possible about shoeing, trimming, and blacksmith work in order to be the best that  order to be the best that I can be at my trade. I have done a lot of self study with some of the best books of the times on the subject, and understand the importance of continuing education. I have attended and graduated from ShurShod Horseschooling School in Grovespring, Missouri, and have passed the BWFA testing to become a Certified Journeyman Farrier. 
I am a full service farrier. I have a propane forge in my trailer and I carry a full stock of rim, heel and toe, and plain plate shoes. With the forge I can make or modify shoes for the individual needs of the horses and create a perfect fit. If there are other needs such as rebuilding hooves or crack repair, I can order special materials if needed.
